“If the electric cord is too short to reach an exsisting outlet, can a small extension cord be used to reach the outlet? Professional advice preferred please.”

So I purchased this stove on 5/12/2016 and I asked an electrician and he recommended a regular extension cord 12 to 16 gauge. I plugged it in and its working fine.
