“My new whirlpool washer just pluged into an existing 3 prong wall socket in my garage and works, same as old dryer. Will I be able to use the same socket or will I need to do any upgrades for this dryer?”

You should be fine. Especially if you have already plugged things in to the 3 prong outlet.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I did the same thing and my dryer works great. But then again my electricity has been upgraded in my 1950 home. So if you have doubts refer to your owners manual and have someone check your circuits to make sure it will handle the load.
