my current dryer is direct wired with no outlet or plug. can i hook this up the same way? or must i install a receptical? null

If you look at the "Quick Start Guide" PDF page 6 lists the requirements for a direct connection: implying that a direct connection is allowed.

Page 7 bottom right corner starts talking about how to do 3/4 wire direct connections.

Hi mdryer! This model will require a receptical- specifically an outlet that is properly installed and grounded; the voltage and amp requirements are 240V and 30 Amps. Thank you for your question!
