Is this filter strong enough to make well water taste really good (drinking water and ice)? Our water tastes terrible from the tap (even though it's softened) and we have to purchase our water. Thanks for your help! null

I would certainly use it for that. Our water had lots of sediment in it when tested and didn’t taste very good but it is fine now. It’s worth trying.

No this filter won’t remove the minerals dissolved in your water. The only way to do that wopuld be to have a reverse osmosis system in the line before the water goes into the fridge

Yes, this filter is strong enough to use with well water. We live in the country & have a water softener as well. I no longer see rust in my coffee maker too. It may be expensive but worth every penny. The water & ice taste great now with this water filter.

Our water smells a little like sulfur sometimes from the faucet, and this filter
 takes all of that out.

I think so. But I don't have a water softener. It's on my to-do list. Our water is very hard. I do have a filtration system in the kitchen and it does a great job.

have well water, water softener and have not noticed any bad taste/smell with the ice or water through this filter. BTW, have extremely high iron content in our well water and the ice cubes are clear

I would probably use something different for your well water. While this is a great filter it only purifies 200 gallons and it's a little pricey. I use this one for my fridge. I buy other filters from a place called The Water Exchange. They have a variety of different filters. They would be able to advise you on what would be best. They are a little more money but they last a lot longer.

We use this filter in a refrigerator fed by city water supply, not well water, and it definitely tastes better than tap water
