“Does this stacking kit offset the washer and dryer at all? I.e. would you need additional depth outside of the depth of the washer and dryer units to use it? Specifically for the Maytag MHW5500FW and MED5500FW. Thanks.”

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.No, you do not need extra room for the stacking kit. The only extra room you will need is for the dryer. The vent hose will take up some room on the rear of the machine.

The dryer does require at least another 4" to support the vents from dryer - the washer only has a narrow water hose so it does not take much space behind the machines - fyi - in case your space is limited for the depth of the two machines.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The stacking option is strictly vertical and does not require any more depth or width then the actual size of the Washer/Dryer. At least the previous was true for whirlpool model #'s WFW85HEFC1 and WED85HEFC1.
