I have it installed in a base cabinet.

4-5” of clear space around the cabinet. But at the face of the cabinet only 2” clearance.

It works but there is quite a bit of heat that you can feel coming out of the cabinet (around the face).

And yes fridge it does vent out the rear. Optimally it should be free standing. But you do what you have too.
