“Why is it that nobody can purchase an Xbox on launch, and suddenly a half-hour into 11/10/2020 both consoles happen to be out of stock? I also recall a statement in which Best Buy said they would have more consoles available by 11/10/2020.”

I do not know anything but this website (https://www.techradar.com/news/where-to-buy-xbox-series-x-right-now-new-console-available-ahead-of-launch-at-microsoft#section-where-to-buy-xbox-series-x-in-the-us) said they are releasing them at 12pm ET.
