“I went in to see if my local store had any for floor sale. CoreBlue said they had 1 Series X in stock, but when the employee went to go get it, the Manager said "All current stock is reserved for Defective returns only". Why is that?”

Because of Best Buys algorithm, i can say, yes, this item seems to be regularly stocked now up front of the store behind the counter. Sorry to hear you had trouble what seems like shortly after launch getting your hands on the system from Best Buy.
