Stores including walmart and best buy are only doing online orders with in store pick up on launch day. You will NOT be able to go in and buy a console. After 48 hours of a pre-ordered console not being claimed, it is then available to be bought. So the short answer being if you aren't able to put in the order for the console tonight, just wait until Thursday at open to go and see if they have any that were not claimed.

No, stores will only get enough units to fulfill preorders
