• Perhaps, but you can't use the app to set the soundbar up, which is a disadvantage. I just disabled Alexa and connected to my home network.

• I believe that this requires an internet connection for you to use the phone app to connect. I have also disabled snoopy Alexa since I don't want to be bothered with it.
