- Answer I do not believe this is possible with this unit. While it does have a Bluetooth capability I believe this is only for connecting a music source. I did not see any reference in the set up instructions nor in the Yamaha setup app that hinted at this possibility. This is a very basic AV receiver with a minimum of inputs and outputs. It will serve most people just fine, but if you need Bluetooth speaker support I’d start at Yamaha’s website and see if you can search for this feature.

QuestionI just bought a 4K tv and tried to use my old Yamaha receiver but can’t get anything to work. Do you need a 4 k compatible receiver to make everything work?

- Answer I had the same issue as I purchased a Sony 950 and have an older (10 years) Yamaha receiver. You can not use the HDMI Arc connection for sound, it won't recognize the device. You can still use the old receiver but you will have to use the optical connection for you to get sound. Mind you, that it will not be in 4K audio. That is why I bought a 4K compatible receiver (RX-V385).

- Answer Yes, there is a 5 channel stereo mode that you can select. It is not automatic.
