Hello Mona! Thank you for your inquiry. The chimney is telescoping with two 16 inch pieces. The minimum ceiling height for this model is 7.70 ft with a maximum height of 9.45 ft. This is an average height range for our range hoods. Additionally, this model comes with a short kit for shorter ceiling heights and extension kits for vaulted ceilings.
