I love that this Chromebook features an ARM-based Mediatek processor, which allows it to have a silent fanless design and a 10-13 hour battery life. It's ideal for a full day of remote teaching and office work because the laptop sips battery instead of chugging it. While it only comes with 4 GB of RAM and eMMC storage, ChromeOS' light footprint gives it a fast 10-second boot up time and it allows a reasonable amount of smooth multi-tasking. For example, I can easily have several Chrome tabs open, a Word document, and an active 20-student Zoom classroom (videos on) without things freezing up. The screen is a bright 300-nits which is good for media consumption and it being an IPS screen allows you to view the screen at different angles without distorting the colors. The laptop also comes with the ability to run Android and Linux apps, which is where its touchscreen feature becomes useful (especially since most Android apps are optimized for touchscreens and not mice). If you don't want to (or need to) use Android apps on the laptop, turning the feature off gives your device an extra performance boost. You can still access many mainstream web apps without Android. Zoom, Spotify, Slack, Microsoft Office, Discord, and Whatsapp all have web versions, a few which "install" as PWAs (web apps that have their own window to look like a desktop app). You always want to do your research before switching to ChromeOS to see if it will have all the apps you'll need or if there's a web version of that app. For me, it's a perfect work machine since it's lightweight, secure (to date, ChromeOS has never had a ransomware attack), has integration with Google and Microsoft services (the ability to add several Gmail accounts under one login, Google Docs, Microsoft 365 Office Web Apps, OneDrive), and is distraction free. As long as you know what to expect, it's a good device for dedicated purposes.

I purchased this Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 Chromebook (14" Full HD Touchscreen, MediaTek Kompanio 520, 4GB RAM, 64GB eMMC in Abyss Blue) from Best Buy during a sale, and it's been a game-changer for my daily needs. As someone who mainly uses a laptop for web browsing, email, Google Docs, YouTube streaming, and light multitasking, this has exceeded my expectations for the price. First off, the build and design are impressive. The Abyss Blue color looks sleek and modern not your typical boring black or silver. It's lightweight (under 3 pounds) and slim, making it super portable for carrying around the house or to a coffee shop. The 14-inch Full HD touchscreen is bright, sharp, and responsive colors pop nicely, and it's great for scrolling or tapping through apps. Performance-wise, the MediaTek Kompanio 520 processor handles everything I throw at it smoothly. Chrome OS boots up in seconds, and I've had no issues running multiple tabs, Android apps, or even some light photo editing. The 4GB RAM is sufficient for basic tasks, and it stays snappy without lag. But the standout feature is the battery life – easily 13+ hours on a charge! I can go a full day (or more) without plugging in, which is perfect for on-the-go use. The keyboard is comfortable for typing, speakers are decent for media, and the webcam has a privacy shutter, which is a nice touch. Storage is 64GB eMMC, which is limited, but Chrome OS relies heavily on cloud storage, and there's a microSD slot for expansion if needed. Overall, purchasing from Best Buy was seamless quick pickup and great customer service. If you're looking for an affordable, reliable Chromebook for school, work basics, or casual use, this is a solid 5-star choice. Highly recommend!

The charger is different. It won’t fit because it’s spin not a type C. Can you replace it please.

stop working after 2 months of very light used and customer is not very helpful. keep asking same questions and go nowhere and it seems the tech doesn't know how the machine work.

I am unable to use the chomebook i bought because my wifi will not connect with it the geek squad doesnt know about chomebook but got their wifi connected. I dont use computers that much so now it just sits collecting dust

The screen is brighter than I expected, and the colors look clean instead of washed out. The keyboard feels comfortable for long typing sessions, and the trackpad responds the way it should — no weird delays or mis-clicks. Battery life surprised me the most. Great Chromebook with touch screen you will will get your moneys worth with this one. Fast, small but not too small. Solid and sturdy. With a memory card that helps it stay somewhat quick but prone to lag depending on memory you add to the device. Other then that a back lit keyboard would make this a must buy . can lag at times depending on the amount of memory Love how easy it pairs with my other devices. Lightweight of my favorite purchases as the last one just needed a new battery as I have never had any problemswith this brand what so ever

Got this for my kid for school. The build quality is good and he's happy with the performance. He's been using the school's Chromebooks for a couple of years now and he's happy with his own now. It can handle some light web gaming just fine. Can do HDMI with a USB-C to HDMI adapter, however you will lose the ability to charge at the same time, but battery life is quite good! Wi-fi is acceptable but not great. I'm used to Macbook Pros and i7 Gaming Laptops and the Wifi in this Chromebook isn't nearly as good, unfortunately, but that's understandable in a machine of this class. The speakers are above average sounding better than my gaming laptop, but not as good as my work Macbook pro. My kid really liked the color since it wasn't your typical black or silver/gray. I was skeptical of the MediaTek chip, but it seems to be doing just fine. For the price, this seems like a great machine so far and has a great AUE date out to June 2032 so there is plenty of life in this machine. I wish it had 8 GB of RAM, but again for the price point, 4GB seems pretty standard and sufficient.

If you use a laptop mainly for web-based tasks, note-taking, emailing, streaming and light productivity, and you want something affordable, portable, and easy to live with, it’s a smart choice. But you’ll need to accept its compromises (RAM/storage/performance) and treat it as a “basic everyday machine” not a beast.

Loving my new Lenovo Slim 3! The build quality on this device is superb with a nice solid feel. Thin and light and easy to carry around. Great audio quality and camera for video conferencing - the camera privacy shutter is really nice too. Keyboard feel is just right. Nice and bright FHD display. Reliable and fast WiFi. The power efficient MediaTek Kompanio 520 processor delivers amazing 13+ hours of battery life so I don’t have to stress when working in coffee shops etc., where AC outlets can be hard to find. The processor is zippy and allowed me to work with plenty of tabs including Google Photos, YouTube, Google Keep, Microsoft Word etc., without any issues switching between apps. Definitely deserves 5 stars and highly recommended for anyone looking for a Chromebook for productivity, entertainment and more!
