The only downside would be if you needed a long cord. This cord is on the shorter side. But we didn't need one so it was perfect for our needs.

Well apparently I only needed a really really really short one, cause this one was too short. However, my inability to simply measure the proper distance I needed is not a fault of this cable itself. It HDMI’s like every other HDMI cable, just at a really really really really short distance.
