It picks up just as much as you need because of the gain switch. Build quality is very good, except for where the stand meets the mic. It has plastic nut type things that feel very weak. Shouldnt be a problem i suppose.

But they dont last very long if you move your mic around. The inside components are very old and designed over a decade ago. Have had to replace this mic 3 times in the past 4 years or so

It has great sound quality and is very sturdy. The mute button on the front is also very nice. I bought a mic boom to go with it and it fit with no problem.
