The V8 is advertised to get 7 minutes in MAX mode for tougher jobs. 25 minutes in standard mode with the motorized cleaner head attached and 30 minutes with the soft roller cleanerhead or mini motorized tool attached. 40 minutes for any other tool. Once you release vacuum trigger vacuum stop running. Also, because the vacuum is top heavy, you must lay it down if you need to move furniture etc.

Posted .Hello Bernard, this is Kelly with Dyson. I can confirm our V8 cord-free vacuum does not have a lever or lock on the trigger, to hold that in place while you vacuum. This machine does have our light-touch trigger, and you will need to hold the trigger down to provide power to the motor. That kills it for me. I bought one for 1/2 the price and the battery lasts 40 min. This one lasts 15 max!

Posted .Hello, this is Kelly with Dyson. Your Dyson V8™ cordless offers two powerful suction modes - regular and MAX. MAX provides a boost of suction for larger debris or more stubborn messes. This mode should not be utilized for your everyday cleaning, as it will only give you about 7 minutes of run time. Regular suction is generally suitable for every household, and gives up to 40 minutes of run time (30 when using a motorized tool). I love this stick vacuum

I've owned uprights from Dyson for as long as I can remember and loved them. I tried other brands but nothing compared to a Dyson. I can confidently say that the stick vacuum is just as good if not better. The only reason why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 was because of the battery life and how I wished I had purchased the V10 model. But that was my mistake.

I have a large shedding dog and now I can vacuum my whole house, hardwoods and carpet in one shot. I put my broom in my garage after I got this vacuum and haven't used it since. I really enjoy vacuuming now and having a vacuum that does clog and picks up everything on the floors. Well worth the investment. Plus, Best Buy price matched Amazon and I got it $100 cheaper than it was listed for. They have such great customer service everytime I use them, Thanks Best Buy!

Under turbo mode last a lot shorter however still a convenient vacuum without having to lug around a big piece.
