This is the one I have been looking for all my life! This vacuum overcast all the previous vacuums I got! Perfect gift for wife!

The V8 dyson battery could have been better dies quickly and doesn't keep the charge.

Suction is wonderful for pet hair, but smaller debris fling behind the vacuum. The battery life is terrible, as all reviews reported, but thankfully my home is small. Just makes it aggravating if I forget to charge it after each and every use. Update: after 6 months of use the vacuum has stopped working all together. It powers on like it’s dying, but it’s clean and has a full battery. Feel like i waited $400. So very very bummed about this purchase. :(

My son requested a lightweight vacuum cleaner. I knew right away that i wanted to get him a Dyson. I jumped online and began comparing specs and reviews. This was the best choice. I sent it to him and he tild me this was exactly what he wanted. He loves it. It is powerful, lightweight, and easy to maneuver. It also doesn't take up a lot of storage space. And of course, it's a Dyson!!!

a must have for multiple story homes! we have 3 levels and the wireless and light weight of this thing is amazing!

Great cordless vacuum. Has multiple power settings and includes multiple attachments. The convenient wall holder/charger works well.

Suction is incredible,I have the dyson v10 but the dyson v8 animal is so much better great price as well

This is our second dyson stick. They are awesome. Would have stayed with the first one but someone broke it so had to Replace. Expensive but worth it

We have two Dyson vacuums; one conventional upright and this one. This one is by far my favorite. So many different uses and flexible to any situation. I highly recommend.

I have been using this vacuum for over 3 years now and it still works great. It doesn't need a lot of space to store and it is light to move it around.

I have to admit it has been sometime since I've tried a new hand-held vacuum. The last one our family had (and we've still continued to use) was a 10-year-old Dirt Devil. It was past time for an upgrade. And the Dyson V8 Animal Cord-Free Vacuum is certainly an upgrade! Of course, it is not just a hand-held, although it can be used in that configuration. It is envisioned mostly as a stick-vac. It shines in both uses, although it may be a little heavy for use as a hand-held if that were your only use for it. It has already won over both my wife and myself. It does a great job sucking up pet hair. We have two dogs who love nothing more than to shed. The Dyson V8 does wonderful job cleaning up after them. It is particularly excellent as a dust mop on hardwood floors. Although it may be on the heavy side for a hand-vac at just over 5 pounds, it is still very light as a stick-vac. The fact is cord-free make it very portable and easy to use. The suction power is impressive for such a little vacuum. Suggestions for improvement are few, but here they are: 1. Include a swappable battery, so you can keep two fully charged. In our experience, the battery lasts about 45 mins. When it dies, it dies suddenly. It'd be nice to be able to swap in another battery rather than plug it back up and wait. 2. Make the primary beater tool thinner top to bottom. That would make it easier to use under furniture and such. Our old hand-held had a much thinner (but also far less effective) attachment that fit under the furniture better. All-in-all, though, the Dyson V8 Animal is a clear winner. We use it daily.

This is a second person review. I gave this as a gift to someone who keeps house like a museum. They rave about it so I am passing that along.

Loving the V8 Animal. It works wonders if you have a dog that sheds. It just sucks it all up. Works on all types of floors.

Easy to use Cordless Vacuum however this particular model runs out of battery quick. Maybe upgrading to a higher model will provide longer lasting battery

Love the Dydson Stick Vacuum....great to use instead of pulling out the vacuum....gets into small tight spots easily.

I have 2 in my home now one on my yacht. They take up very little space, are always ready to work, and do a great job on hard wood and carpet.

Best vacuum ever, battery is kinda poor. It comes with a lot of Accesories which makes it perfect for all needs.
