This model does a much better job at removing animal hair (even on the lower setting) than my previous model did on max power. It runs for longer periods of time. The only negative is I wish the older model's tools would work on this vacuum. I had purchased a tool that would go under low furniture and was disappointed the tool would not fit this model.

This was my second Dyson purchase, from Best Buy. After only 2 months of light use, the main head stopped spinning. There is nothing caught in it, and no obvious reason that it stopped spinning. I took it to Best Buy and they told me that since I did not buy the protection plan, they can't help me. They said it should still be under warranty though with Dyson, and that I should contact Dyson. Disappointed in this purchase. Hopefully it is a one off

Your Dyson V8™ cordless offers two powerful suction modes - regular and MAX. MAX provides a boost of suction for larger debris or more stubborn messes. This mode should not be utilized for your everyday cleaning, as it will only give you about 7 minutes of run time. Regular suction is generally suitable for every household, and gives up to 40 minutes of run time (30 when using a motorized tool).
