After just under a year of having it and using it about every other day it stopped working. My Mom had the exact same one the she bought about a week after me and the exact same thing happened to her. It would turn on as long a so didn’t use it. As soon as I started to actually vacuum it would intermediatly shut off. I cleaned it changed the filter everything when doing research online it said it may need a new battery. I would expect a vacuum I paid this much for to last longer than a year when I didn’t even use it every day. Like I said the exact same thing happened to my moms too.

This vacum fits underneath our coaches as well to get the dust that builds up underneath. I bought an attachment holder to mount next to the vacuum to hold the extra attachments that cam will the vacuum.

It lasted a good 30+ min to do our entire house. About 2000sqf. Especially if you do small clean ups every other day. Strong suction, does the carpets too.

I had the geek squad protection on initial purchase but redeemed it after a few months because the charging port broke. The Best Buy associate recommended not to buy protection again since Dyson has 2 year warranty. Well here I am, just outside the 2 year warranty and the battery went out. It will no longer hold a charge. iPhones, which are used and charged everyday, have batteries that last longer. I contacted Dyson to see if they could resolve and they told me to buy a new battery.

Posted .Hello Luke, this is Kelly with Dyson. We are sorry to hear that after two years of use, you've found that your battery is no longer charging, or holding a charge like it used to. Lithium-Ion batteries are subject to degradation over time. This is completely normal and occurs with any device that uses this type of battery. Battery degradation is not a fault of the machine. It happens to all batteries in everyday items, such as mobile phones and laptops. Unfortunately, we are unable to advise how long each component will last in each individual's home. The overall lifespan of the battery can vary greatly, depending on how often the machine is used, charged and stored. Once the warranty has matured, a replacement battery would be a chargeable item. I can confirm that when purchased direct with Dyson, a new battery would include a free 1-year guarantee.
