Well, I don't have to right HMDI since my TV is older. After rehearing the optical cable I went over to Best Buy and bought one. And holy smokes! I thought I would be loosing sound quality since it is not HDMI. My house sounds like a movie theater!

If your sound system and TV both have a port called ‘OPTICAL’, use this cable to link both together and should be receiving sound onto your sound system. Can also use just for regular connects if you do not wish to use the HDMI(eARC/ARC) port.

Was not for sure if it was the receiver or the optical cable. So I went with the cheaper option of replacing the cable first. Havent had any problem since. Just hope these last for 20 plus years like my other ones did.
