    In my mind a splitter is a passive device. This is an active device, so I consider this to be a distribution amplifier. Whatever the case, I got my two outputs and they were good.

    Initially I got this in hopes of having 2 independent HDMI displays but realized it only duplicates the display from the single source. If that is the end result you are looking for I suggest looking else where for much cheaper options which duplicate displays.

    I use this as a DJ which means that the device is plugged and unplugged and moved around a great deal. I have had problems with inferior products. The Rocketfish is very reliable.

    Bought this to add a second monitor to an office computer, which had only one hdmi output. Hooked up second monitor, but only works in duplicate mode. Can’t use in extended mode. Returned the splitter and the second monitor. Very disappointing as two people at Best Buy recommended this for what we wanted to do.

    I wanted to split the signal from my Xbox SX to my samsung tv and a Polk sound bar to get Atmos. 1. Wont alow it. Not sure why but the xbox doesnt read the sound bar as an option. Only gives me what the TV can do. 2. And the reason for the 1 star. Although it sucks i cant use it for what my original intention was. It is not sending any audio to my sound bar. I have two brand new rocket fish 4KHdmis just to make sure there were no problems there. But nothing. Picture looks good . But nothing else.
