Poor choice to buy!

Owned for 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.It works but......Get the Compustar, not this DEI Viper......It interfaces with your OBDII which prevents communication for any Smartphone app and even prevents your mechanic from being able to diagnose any problems! The installer said that he would check into fixing this issue with DEI..... And DEI told me (when I asked them directly myself) to ask him about it, as if they think a Best Buy employee is going to know their product better than they do! 2 weeks later and the Best Buy employee is completely ignoring my emails even though he knew about the problem the day that he did the install!

Sometimes the car does not start the first time; it turns over but doesn’t start. Try it a second time and it goes

Made it impossible to install it yourself.

They make you download an app called DirectLink which promps you to login or create an account. You need an account to access the firmware need to flash the starter as well as the installation guide. Unfortunately, "Only authorized dealers can login to the site." This explains why the box was already openned becuase someone probably realized like I just did that the manufacturer will not let customers who install it themselves and had to return it. You are forced to have Geek Squad install it even if youre more qualified.

Very poor range on the remote and phone app

Otherwise the fob and phone app will not connect to the car. This is a bluetooth system, spend more and get a WIFI system, it will save you tons of headaches! Also had to wait 6 weeks for installation, then it took 6 hours for the install. I would NOT recommend this remote start to anyone!
