This extra battery is a life saver. It's always good to have a backup battery for any of your Ring devices. Makes life convenient. Very simple to install.

Having a second battery for your Ring doorbell is a must if you don't want to lose the doorbell for about 10 hours. This is the same battery as the one that came with your unit and you just charge it and keep it in the drawer until the Ring app tells you it's time to charge the one in the doorbell. Take the dead one out, but this one in, you're back up and running in 2 minutes. It's weird, but once you have this line of protection for you and your family, it's a little unsettling to have it go down for a day. You'll never have to worry about that with a second battery on hand.

My Ring doorbell 2 is not wired. I think the extra batter is a must have. When the battery in the doorbell is low you can start charging the extra battery and install when it is convenient for you. As of this review I have swapped the battery on and it was easy to do.
