Purchased as a “hot swap” spare, and given the slow discharge rate of a battery in use, the spare battery should have no problem holding the initial charge I put on since it’s just sitting idle. The battery comes with a short – about 12" – charging cable. One can use an iPhone adapter cube or use the power adapter and cable that came with the Ring keypad to charge the battery. The indicator lights that show when it’s fully charged is essentiallg foolproof. Pretty good value, and even though it seems high (mid-$20), it is still a lithium battery, the same type that powerful the ubiquitous mobile phones upon which many are dependent.

Really good battery

I bought a second one as a back up because I'm using my ring camera 100% wireless. They take more than 8hrs to fully charge though. But other than that, I never had a problem with it. Highly recommended.

So I got this as a backup. It worked out perfectly and saved me the money for not having to buy a new doorbell. It is very easy to replace the battery and there are Youtube videos that can be referenced.
