This battery is great to have if you own a Ring Doorbell 2 without a hardwired connection. Makes it easier to swap instantly and keep your doorbell running without waiting for the battery to charge. Works with other ring products as well.

I thought I was going to need this battery but ended up needing to plug it in anyway. However, if it's in the device, and your loose power, the camera keeps going. And then it recharges itself inside when power is on.

The battery in the ring has lasted me 5 months. This was without constant live view. We bought another battery so that we can just swap them out and always leave live view on in case motion isn’t detected or the camera is on a “cool down”

This extra battery is recommended if you are using the Ring Doorbells. The battery life is quite long but when it comes time for a recharge it is just easier to put the replacement battery. It is nice to have a replacement battery as backup.
