    I purchased this product to upgrade my 2nd gen Echo Dot and have found its been improved a lot. The 3rd gen echo dot has a mini subwoofer in it that makes the bass and the low notes more clearly heard. The high's are good too where the sound doesn't distort at volume 10 - but the mid range notes are not as clear or subtle, for that matter.

    This was a great gift for my friend. She is able to be comforted by any genre of music that she chooses. She listens to soothing music channels as well as favorite songs of favorite artists. Sound is very clear!
