    I am amazed at what this thing can do. I listen to podcasts and library books, use timers, check the weather and the news, and listen to relaxing sounds and music. If you whisper your request, she whispers back. Very responsive and can do just about everything.

    Got this as a freebie with the purchase of an Insignia TV. I am not at all happy with the TV, but this Echo Dot is pretty nice. Alexa is very responsive. I have not had an issue with the assistance that I request at all, be it music, information, or anything else.

    I THOUGHT I WOULD TRY ONE OF THESE ECHO DOTS, SINCE THEY WERE ON SALE FOR HALF PRICE. PLUS I GOT A FREE LIGHT BULB WITH THE PURCHASE. WE ARE JUST TRYING IT OUT. SO FAR, NOT DISAPPOINTED. IT EVEN HELP US OUT IN MAKING GROCERY LISTS. SO FAR, I WE ARE HAPPY WITH THIS. WE EVEN BOUGHT A SECOND ONE, WITH A FREE LIGHT BULB. WILL KEEP TRYING NEW THINGS AS TIME GOES ON.

    We live in a 2 story house and shopped around for intercom systems on Bestbuy and Amazon. Even bought a wireless Panasonic phone system to use as an intercom. Returned. The Echo Dot Gen 3 works great to communicate with family members that may be in different rooms within the house. Drop in on someone specific (they also need to have a Gen3 Dot) or send an announcement for everyone to hear.
