I love my dot! I got it with a deal thanks to bestbuy! I have one prior to this one and my kids also love it. My 3 year old is always asking it to play baby shark. I have a 2 year old niece, when she visits remembers that I have one, and always asking it to play a song. Will be purchasing her one soon.

I love this device simple for the fact that i like listing to music when i'm cleaning up and i'll i half to do is say play a song and i no longer half to keep changing the station myself

I bought one of these for my great-granddaughter and she loved it so much that I bought her another for her at my house and one for my bedroom and another for our second home. I love my Echo Dots!

We are enjoying our echo, the sound is great, and my husband loves the fact that he can play his jazz music and I'm glad cause I can request my smooth R&B without commercials. We add a smart plug and now we don't have to argue over who will turn the lights out when we both are comfortable while watching a movie. :)

We have three of these. We've actually gotten them all for free through different special offers. For example, two of them we received when we bought our insignia TVs through best buy. They're really easy to set up and fun to play with. We also have a Google version, but we think this one is more fun. It communicates more realistically.

It is okay. I actually prefer the google home mini but this product is actually pretty close. It is useful for many things like controlling your smart home. I got it for free in a promotion but if you must buy an echo, I would recommend the new one. Hey google or ok google is harder to mishear than “Alexa” which sounds like lots of things including being an actual person’s name. I keep this device unplugged to avoid unintentional eaves dropping.

I have an original tall 1st gen Echo, which sounds really good for what it is and I firmly believe that these 3rd gen Dots sound as good or better than the original 1st gen Echo. What a difference a few years makes in the tech! The look of the 3rd gen Dot is also more complementary to the house decor.

The sound quality is MUCH better than I expected from such a small device. The Alexa voice recognition/interaction works pretty well, too. We had the Google Home device before, and it was so bad we just returned it. Only reason we got this one was because it came included with a larger purchase. Definitely recommend.

Love to ask Alexa the time and to set timers. Reminds me of appointments. I can intercom to the second floor when dinner is ready. I also find my phone with this device by asking it where my phone is and it calls it right away. Good sound comes out.

Was hesitant to have a 'hot mike' in my home. However I enjoy my Echo Dot. Honestly I use for alarm, grocery list, music/podcast listening and weather. Should have purchased earlier.

You can’t be a Smart home for turning on lights or to ask questions. I have 3 of these now. Two 3rd generation and one 2nd generation. Wife loves listening to podcasts or music by Bluetooth thru it. Only con is Echo has issues re-hooking up to WiFi after an outage. You have to use Amazon Alexa App to re-pair it frequently. Not for your mom or dad with no tech skills or you’ll be over at their house all the time fixing. I have a Google Home Mini and has no issues after an outage so my choice vs Echo.

This so the second Echo device I’ve purchased. This one is a gift for a friend who needs to operate her indoor lights when coming home after dark. She loves it!

Received this Echo smart speaker free for purchasing a smart TV. What an awesome deal this was. The TV went to my daughter and the speaker was gifted to my niece...therefore, killing 2 birds with one stone! -So Grateful!

Great addition to your smart home line up. Requires minimal experience on setting up smart home products, directions provided were easy to follow. Only downfall is the responsiveness due to our signal strength WiFi and router placement. Great if you have echo as well so you can talk to each other in different rooms.

Love the Dot and coming from a Microsoft user, that’s saying something!! I love the ability to set up my daily schedule, my grocery list, and various other tasks. The one fault that I found, was that this item came in several days after my TV was installed, but given the state of the union and the resurgence of the virus, wasn’t totally surprised. Which also says something about the Dot and it being user friendly.

Alexa is always there to help. If you don't own one of these, or a variant, then I would highly recommend it. She'll help you with anything from the weather, to random questions, easily order stuff from amazon through her... You can even play jeopardy with her.

I never really wanted this. It came free with another purchase, and I probably would never have bought it on my own. That said, I am really impressed with the quality of the voice recognition and the accuracy of its responses. I don't use it often, but it does come in pretty handy at times.

My college student loves it!! Compact size is wonderful for moving to different areas. Has the same great clarity of larger models.

Great little inexpensive way to make my house "smart"er. Easy setup, highly functional--even my 88 year old dad has figured out how to use the Echos. They are a much simpler (and less expensive) manner to connect all your rooms instead of an intercom.

I have had this device for almost a year and it is still going strong. I also bought some of the plugs and hooked lamps up to it and it is so convenient to just say “Alexa good night” and have them all go off at once.
