Very easy to setup through the Alexa app, and the volume quality is awesome in terms of getting the right sound volume you want.

I received one with each of the last 3 Toshiba Televisions I bought. I was not sure how they worked so I just gave one away and put the other two aside .... I saw really popular for Christmas so , I asked my son to set mine up for me... On Christmas .. I asked Alexa to play my favorite Christmas Song by the Temptations and she did so quick and then I asked for my favorite Artist Whitney's Christmas and it shuffled her Christmas Songs .. OMG... it was so hard to put my egg nog down and stop listening to go to bed for work the next day. I am so glad I got my son to set it up for me..

Besides telling jokes and ordering products on Amazon, the Echo Dot makes a great smart home hub. Alexa has no issues with my voice or even my wife's, who has a slight accent. Using the Dot, I control multiple light switches with it through my voice and integrations with the skills. My wife also likes to check the weather before venturing out for the day. With two of these we have also set up an intercom between rooms. The only negative side is registering the device with a single account, instead of allowing multiple accounts use on the device with unlock pass codes. I recommend the Echo Dot for anyone with Amazon Prime or those setting up smart devices in their home.

Its small so easy to find a place for it. Compact design, works well, has surprisingly good sound for its size. I would recommend to anyone.

These little gadgets have been amazing. Set them up in all of our bedrooms and living spaces. Helps avoid yelling throughout the house because we use drop in and announcements to talk to each other. The multi room music groups help keep the volume down upstairs when I’m cleaning because I can hear the same music synced in each room as I walk between them. Got my mom a couple and set up so if we can’t reach her we can drop in and make sure she’s okay without her needing to be able to reach a phone. I also gave one to my special needs niece and it helps keep her busy listening to music instead of waking my sister up at 4 am. Just be sure to disable the calling feature and also set so you can’t order things from it. Quality of the sound is as expected for this type of device, size, and price. The speaker isn’t as great as I’d like. And it’s not portable or rechargeable in the fact that is always has to be plugged in. Those last items are the only reason I give it a 4.

This suprised me with the simplicity and ease of set up. The device works well and the speaker is of good sound quality considering how small it is. I think it sounds as good as my JBL Flip 3.

Love the dot. It is loud and has very clear sound. I use the echo dot outside when using the BBQ and in the garage. It’s small and doesn’t take up space.

this is my 1st echo dot. i'm really enjoying it. love that it can play my apple music and update me daily on the news. great price.

Much better than Gen 2. Used to upgrade and much more bass and gets louder. Very clear. Didn't think it would be much different but it is. Would recommend.

Extremely easy set-up and surprisingly great sound. The design in simple and compelling. The only complaint I have is that Alexa can be pretty dumb sometimes, but as she listens in more often she should improve.

This upgraded Echo is a good option for first time Alexa user's. It is Cheap, smart and best at listening.

Easy to set up and use. The quality of music and sound is very good. It's a very good gift that can be used in a variety of settings, wherever there is an Internet connection.

This speaker is not a party at home speaker. After volume 5 it starts to go flat on bass. It’s a good speaker to have spread around the house to give quick commands.

The dot is mostly fun and convenient. I give it 4 stars b/c I said "mostly". Not sure how anyone can think something that works most of the time, instead of all the time, is 5 star material. This is all new tech, so problems should be expected. Getting into an argument w/ Alexa b/c you are so frustrated the device is not doing what you are telling it to do (misunderstands command) only happens occasionally, but it still happens, even many months after purchase. I also use Alexa to control many lights...that is if the lights are still connected. That could be the light brand and could be Alexa, but every couple months I am re-setting up a light that is no longer connected to Alexa, which is not convenient, and convenience is pretty much the point. Overall, I am happy w/ my dots (have 3 and use them as intercoms), just don't expect perfection or 5 star performance.

Better sound than the original Dot. We use it on the patio for music and home automation. Looks better and is more solid than the original Dot. Works good .

This device was a reasonable price and easy enough fo me to install. Alexa is helpful for music and questions.

Great for everything! I wish I had one in every room. I love how I can set an alarm or listen to music. The kids love how it will spell words, give definitions, and solve problems.

The 3rd Gen Echo Dot provides much better sound quality than my 1st Gen Dot. Earlier versions did not have the quality of sound or volume as this 3rd Gen does. Glad I updated,

I bought this new Echo Dot with the digital clock on it to replace my generation one echo dot basically because of the clock on it. That was by far the best move by Amazon and the sound quality is very good. When asking Alexa the temperature outside, she also displays the temperature and when you ask here to turn the volume to a number, that shows too. I noticed there’s been some comments on how to make the display brighter. You have to go into your Alexa app and go to your device and you can set the brightness through that feature in the display feature. Now that I have a clock on this Echo Dot, I use it for an alarm now. Also takes up little space on the nightstand and looks great. I’m very pleased with this product.
