Depletes Too Quickly
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The ink quality is good. However, for such an expensive cartridge, it's frustrating that the ink depletes as quickly as it does. I print maybe two color pages every two weeks and the ink depletes within approx. nine months.

I only use genuine HP ink
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I always use only HP genuine cartridges, which is likely why my printers always work and last so long

POOR QUALITY
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The yellow would not work. It froze up the printer. To use the printer I had to go buy one. You did send a replacement but I had to notify you & wait 2 weeks for the replacement to arrive. HAD I NOT WENT TO TOWN (25 MILES) & BOUGHT A 3 PACK THE PRINTER WOULD HAVE NOT BEEN USEABLE FOR ALMOST A MONTH!

Posted .Hi there,
I am sorry that the cartridge isn't printing as much as you expected That sounds disappointing.
The advertised estimates of pages are based on a standards set by the industry. How each individual cartridge will perform for you is determined by your own usage. High-density prints (such as images and graphs) will use more ink, especially if the paper is quite absorbent and the air is warm and dry.
Here are some things that might help lower your ink costs:
- Make use of the printer's draft mode whenever possible, to help stretch out black and colored ink
- Use the black only setting when appropriate to save on colored ink
- Always use the power button on the printer itself to turn it off. That gives it time to ‘park’ so that the cartridges are protected from excessive drying.
- Shutting the printer down between uses will save electricity and a few drops of ink here and there that are used to keep the inkjets cleared and ready for your next print job.
- Instant Ink lets you pay by the page. Check out the details at: instantink.com
If it appears that poor performance is due to a defect or you got a cartridge that was already low on ink, you are free to contact the seller about that.

HP is not your FRIEND!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.HP has rigged their cartridges to dis-advantage the consumer. I got a set of cartridges included in the purchase. They won't work unless you have an active HP Ink refill plan.

Posted .Hi Arnold,
I am sorry about the misunderstanding. The cartridges that come with the printer and any other compatible cartridges will work without you being on any plan.
Perhaps the confusion was because while the starter cartridges provided with the printer might say Instant Ink, but you don't have to have an Instant Ink account to use them.
