By the time I got the cartridge, ink ran out on the original black cartridge ( same as yellow and blue) and now my printer won’t print anything. Best Buy still has not sent me the replacement cartridges?????

Since HP reprogrammed my printer in the middle of the night, calling it an UPDATE. Now my printer knows I bought an ink cartridge from another source, and will no longer work until I replace it with an "Official" HP brand cartridge. SO now it is in the trash and I have a printer from a different company. BTW did I mention I replaced 6 printers in my orginization? I hope other people do the same.

It’s disappointing that they are so expensive and having kids at home doing school, I’m running out at lightning speed!

I am sorry that the cartridge didn't last long. Ink usage usually determines how long each individual cartridge lasts. High-density prints (like images and graphs) will use more ink, especially if the paper is highly absorbent and the surrounding air is dry.
Here are some things that might help lower your ink usage:
- Set the printer to draft mode whenever possible
- Using the black-only setting will save on colored ink usage.
- Shut the printer down between uses
- Always use the power button on the printer itself to turn it off. That gives it time to ‘park’ so that the cartridges are protected from excessive drying
- Subscribe to Instant Ink, then you only pay by the page and not for the cartridges themselves
The seller is responsible for the product you bought from them. If the poor performance appears to be due to the individual cartridge itself, consider returning it to the seller.
