Great fridge just needs more racks

I was going to get another "regular" fridge, but a year ago I bought this same unit but in 17 ft3 size to use as a freezer downstairs. Figured if I already have a dedicated freezer, may as well get a dedicated fridge. I love it. It's SO nice having a ton of space. I wish they'd given us more rack options though. I don't need so much room between racks; I'd rather sacrifice some space to add more racks. That said, the big space is nice as I can easily fit my 1000mL tea infusers in this fridge (they're pretty tall). Only drawback is it's only two months old and already makes a noise now and then. It's intermittent, so calling service out would be pointless as they'll likely show when it's quiet. So I have to cross my fingers and hope it either goes away or it gets worse and becomes constant before my 1 year warranty expires.

The only thing I do not like is the handle. It is kind of hard to open with this type of handle. Feels like it is going to come off. I end up pulling the freezer out about an inch or so each time. But it's nothing I can't live with. In comparison to the chest-type freezer, I give it a 10. I threw a lot of food away with the chest type. Cause I could never see what was in it.

Took a while and viewed other stand up freezers from both Home Depot and Lowes. Decided on the Insignia 21.0 Cu Ft, first because of price vs size (best I could find), then because of the layout and digital control panel on the front of the unit. Super easy to setup and stays at 0 degrees in our garage with no issues. Alarm is not too loud, but the magnet seal is super strong. Definitely recommend freezing a half filled 16oz bottle of water, then laying it on its side to know if it ever stops freezing for too long. So far though, its been a great replacement to our 14 cu ft chest freezer.

It is quiet and has a super great amount of space. I also love that it doesn’t have wire racks for shelves. If I had to give one con about it I’d say I wish the door baskets were wider. I have only used on the freezer option and it’s perfect for me. And the price was awesome.

Can store tons of items with shelves for optimal organization. The alarm/lock to ensure that the door stays shut is a great added feature to ensure that nobody leaves the door open for the items to spoil. Also looks great! Best Buy delivery also on point too! On time, in communications, and great overall purchase.

Very sturdy and strong. Keeps everything very cold and tells you if the door was left open. Has a great light inside too. Love it.

It is a beast! Large, well lit, solid construction and more than does the job. Love the fact it can be converted to a frig for the holidays!
