NEW 13 MP CAMERA: Upgraded from 1MP in 1st Gen. MUCH better picture for video calls. --CAMERA AUTO FRAME: Camera follows you and centers you in the frame during video calls. The Show 8 itself does not move like the new Show 10 does, but the camera can still follow you and zoom in, in about a 120 degree arc in front of the Show 8. --NEW PROCESSOR: MediaTek MT 8183 octo-core processor, upgraded from MT 8163 in 1st Gen. This results in a faster, more responsive touch screen. Slight difference, but noticeable. --ADAPTIVE COLOR: Adjusts the color and white balance of the screen to the lighting in the room. This results in clearer, brighter looking images, even though the screen hardware is the same. --MOTION SENSOR: Camera detects motion activity, and can now trigger Routines. ie turning lights on when sensor detects a person in the room. --REMOTE VIEWING: Use the Alexa app on your phone to remotely view the camera of the Show 8, so you can check on your home while you're away. There is a big notice displayed on the Show 8 screen that says it is being remotely viewed.

I love this echo and all the options and skills it provides! I purchased one for myself and one for our youngest daughter so that we can video chat every day while quarantined! We also share our favorite recipes demonstrated and detailed on this echo. I connected our ring doorbell to the echo so that it shows us who is at our door! These are just a few of the many helpful tasks this echo provides to my family!

I love this thing! Very easy to use and despite the reviews I read about the sound quality, I totally disagree. The sound and picture are outstanding. I love that when I'm getting ready in the morning I can just tell it to play a TV show or the news etc. I'll be watching more youtube videos on all the additional features it supports.

i like it! i like that i can call it echo instead of Alexa because we have several of the devices. i can stream the news, music, ask questions. i know it will do so much more with smart home technology, i havent gotten there yet but so far its great. btw the speaker is very nice for such a small unit. i bought it onsale and with a best buy credit..its a bit pricey without that.

For my bedside, I was going to get the Google Nest Hub Max but it was just too big. The comparable to the Hub Max by Amazon Echo was also too big so I settled on the 8. The size is perfect. It works well. I still find that trying to tell Alexa to turn my Nest thermostats on or off etc is a challenge and more trouble than it's worth so I use my phone for that. As I only recently set it up, that's all I have for now.

Our household has an Alexa in most every room. The new Amazon Echo Show 8" features a bright, clear display which is useful as an office hub that will display your favorite photos, weather, news, and so much more. When you ask Alexa for the weather, the display shows the forecast for the week. This is just one example of how useful the display is. This Echo Show 8" & the Echo Show 10" both will connect to your HULU & YOUTUBE accounts. (Echo Show 5" will not). Simply say: "Alexa, watch (name your favorite news channel) on HULU. About 6 seconds later, you are connected! Even though I have a 55" TV in my office, it is distracting. This 8" Show is located between my 2) computer monitors & is not distracting, at all. CONCLUSION; I highly recommend the Echo Show 8" Smart Display. I use the Echo Show 10" for the kitchen & the 8" for an office hub. I use it daily.

I love this product! I have the smaller one in my bedroom, which I bought to use as an alarm clock. But it has so many other useful features. The same goes for this echo…I use this one in the kitchen. The large display makes it super easy to see from across the counter. From recipes, to phone calls, grocery lists, reminders, etc. I would recommend this product.

I'm very happy with the echo show 8. It has nice sound and a great size screen.

I purchased two echo shows, one for our nursery and one for our bedroom. I like that I can see the nursery from our echo show that’s in our bedroom. I can also talk through it to the baby if I need to. It’s also nice to play music on when I’m trying to put the baby to sleep, or to see who’s at the door if I am rocking her and can’t get up to answer it. Overall, I’m very happy with both and would definitely recommend.

The Echo Show 8 is really a good buy. We bought it sit in our kitchen to work with our Ring Doorbell. When anyone push the doorbell or if someone is approaching the front door, the video of who's there is shown. Also, you can talk with Alexa and use the internet. The Echo Show is worth it.

Love my Alexa’s does what you ask and everything..

We bought this to replace our aging Alexa "tube" and to have easy access to information in the kitchen. It's a bit bulky, but the sound and picture is quite good and it looks good on the countertop. The touch interface can sometimes be a little "touchy" and controls a bit confusing/annoying which is why I knocked it down a star, but having the latest news pop up, or search results appear on the screen after you ask Alexa for information, among other niceties, make this a worthwhile investment. We haven't really tried it for video yet so I can't comment on that. Music/sound quality is pretty good for such a small unit.
