Its not a radio frequency though this uses infared which needs direct line of sight.

Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.works really well, and the quality is great. be warned that you have to connect something similar to a cable box or a Roku etc in order to control the volume. it won't work on the media apps like Netflix, Hulu, etc. other than that the remote works great you can use it to navigate menus( in Netflix, Hulu, etc.) just not change the actual volume.
