waster of money

About 6 weeks before we had had it a year, it started making a terrible grinding noise( apparently a common issue). We reached out to GE, and after a lot of back and forth, we were asked to film the noise. So we did. Then they finally decided that they would send us a "new" machine with no warranty. once it was received, we sent the other one back. After 6 days with the "new" ice maker, it started telling us to add water, and would not make ice. we learned this is ask a common problem with this machine. clearly we were sent a refurbished machine instead of a new one. Since we were without a warranty, we donated the ice maker to Goodwill and vowed to never purchase another GE product again.

Third ice maker

First went out after the warranty. Second went out in three months. Third times a charm. It’s a great ice maker when it’s working.

The Ice is worth it

It is a heavy machine so I added soft rubbers on the bottom to make it easier to slide out form under the cabinet. Another con is that you have to flip over the water tank and it spills you shouldn't have to do that. The ICE is worth it.

My first GE Opal Ice machine broke and best buy asked if i had warranty. I informed him that i did and with no hesitation he went to get a replacement and walked out with a new one. I always tell people if you going to buy go to best-buy..
