Noisy/Loud, takes very few “breaks” and seems to run almost around the clock; requires sanitizing and/or descaling often…too often…and the process of sanitizing and descaling is extremely tedious, time consuming, and inefficient if not ineffective. Lots of vinegar, bleach required. Unit is very heavy and difficult to carry or move when cleaning. Wife loves the final product (nugget size ice) but we’ve had it just under 1 year and it has started making a terribly loud/new sound, like the motor or “guts” are on their last leg. Would definitely not recommend for the nearly $600 price! GE had this product made overseas somewhere; it shows!

I was a little skeptical when my wife said she wanted this. After all, our refrigerator makes ice too. And, I need to fill this. But, after a few weeks I was a convert. This makes PERFECT chewable ice, just like at Sonic or other similar places where people actually comment about their ice. Is it extravagant? Absolutely. But, once you serve drinks to visitors with this ice and they remark how much they love it. And you will too. You do need to refill it maybe one or twice a week, but it's a small price to pay.

Makes great nugget ice in little time. Easy to clean

This makes the best ice. Sits on the counter and works better than our under cabinet unit. Makes different sizes and is not loud like some ice makers. Cleaning will also be much easier with this unit.

Bought this shortly after Christmas and have had no issues with it. It works great and makes ice fast. I was concerned on how fast it would replenish but we have had a few gatherings where almost all of the ice is used and before we know it the bin is full again. We do use distilled water in it. Only thing I wish it had was a cap on the top of the water tank so it didnt have to be removed to fill it, which is not hard, but the only thing I could really find to complain about. Highly recommended!

This is a very nice ice machine. Once it's set up, it pretty much runs itself. It does get warm no the sides, so you will need some space for the vents to breathe. Good item.

Was looking to replace the nasty fridge ice and this guy does a gray job. Has the side reservoir which makes plenty of ice and the light keeps it clean and bacteria free. Little on the pricey side but you get what you pay for. So far a great purchase and we’re never going to run out of ice. Makes a batch in just a couple of hours. Highly recommend.

Wow! This thing is awesome! My wife had surgery where she was unable to eat / drink a lot. In the hospital they would give her ice (“sonic ice!”) you know what I am talking about. So yummy! Anyways I went and got this for her and I think I now use it more than she does. Works great, have had no issues so far. Makes ice VERY fast, we have the extra side tank that holds more water so it will fill up within a couple hrs. It does stop making ice automatically when it gets full. The ice does stay inside and keep pretty frozen, it does melt slowly but we leave it sitting all day and still get ice out of it that is frozen. Cool thing is when it melts it is just recycling the water to make more ice again. Love it!

It is absolutely the best little product I bought for my wife! It make ice quickly and keeps up with her ice usage. Easy to clean and use little counter space.

We previously owned an original GE Opal Ice Machine, but there were some fatal flaws that caused us to unplug it - though we missed the ice it made. Once I read and saw reviews for the new and improved (and cheaper) version, I knew we needed it in our life and on our counter. The ice that it makes is perfect and makes every drink better, even just a glass of ice water. Dont hesitate to add this to your counter if uou’ve got the space. You will thank me later!

Great product even thought its a little expensive ive always wanted a ice machine that made crushed ice and i finally purchased it works great easy set up would recomened to anyone.

Works great, Ice the perfect size. Only negative makes a lot of noises when using. Especially during start up.

Love Love Love this machine! It's a bit noisy, but the ice is SO GOOD. It makes ice fast too. I just set it up with a schedule and there is always ice when I come home from work!

Excellent. Works great. WiFi enabled. Little pricey but the ice is addictive, I use mine with sno cone juice

Expensive but worth it to me.When it comes to counter top ice makers i have found that you get what you pay for.

I love the ice nuggets but after a few months the icemaker starts naking a loud noise. I exchanged it one time and the second one is doing the same thing. Ive youtube it and it seems you have to grease something inside but i would have to take apart. Ill hand on to it and exchange it again.
