That said, this was able to connect my laptop to my 49" Samsung Monitor at max resolution and 120hz refresh.

However, I highly recommend spending your money on a cable that has USB-C on one end and connects to a DisplayPort 1.4 port on the other. This way, you eliminate the middleman, that is, this adapter, and just connect straight to the source. Also, this thing stopped working after 3 months of use. Not sure why I didn't even touch it.

Needed to connect a Mac to my LG second monitor

I wasn't sure if the usb c port would support HDMI video thruputs well, but the plug n play feature worked seamlessly, and video quality was excellent
