Just the right amount of smart for the bedside

My one and only complaint is the screen's texture. Something about it is sticky and it catches dust like crazy for some reason. All the google features you want, could use some better layout management...From across the room the time and temp is perfect but the weather is indistinguishable.

Our old google home kicked the bucket a d we needed a cheap replacement fast. Found this and hopped on it while it was on sale. The clock is just what we needed but I do wish the hey google responsiveness was better. Had to go into the Google home app and increase the sensitivity for it to function normally.

Please ensure you have removed the plastic film that is on the screen to protect the unit during shipping. If the issue persists, it is possible setting up voice match and raising the "okay google" sensitivity will help with this. to setup voice match please open the Google Home app.
At the top right, tap your account.
Verify that the Google Account shown is the one linked to your speaker or display. To switch accounts, tap another account or Add another account.
Tap Assistant settings Voice Match Add devices.
Make sure any devices you want to link your voice to are checked.
Tap Next I agree.
Follow the in-app steps.
To adjust the sensitivity of the mic please open the Google Home app .
At the bottom, tap Home .
Select your speaker or Smart Display.
At the top right, tap Device settings. ...

The nightlight feature works well, but it would be nice if it automatically shut off during the day. The speaker is unfortunately very disappointing. I replaced a Nest Mini with this and the sound quality is no where near the same.

Posted .Hi! Thanks for choosing the Lenovo Smart Clock Essential. You can setup a routine for day and night to turn off/on the nightlight. To get started please open up the Google Home app on your smart phone or tablet. Next select "routines". After that please select your Smart Clock Essential from the device list at the bottom of the screen. Next please select the mult-colored "+ " Sign to add a new custom routine. Then Add a starter with the time of day to start the routine. If it asks you to add a voice starter add it, but note that a voice command will not be required by you if you also have a time of start command set. Lastly add a custom action. Please type "Turn on nightlight" in the text box of the custom action. You have now created a custom routine to turn your nightlight on at a certain time. To turn the nightlight off you will need to crate a custom routine again using the above method but changing the routine action text to "Turn nightlight Off" at the specified time..... In regards to the speaker you can group the Lenovo Smart Cock with any Cast enabled speaker you may own. This will allow you to setup full room or whole house audio depending on the number of Castable smart speakers you have. If you have a speaker you prefer you can set this to be the default speaker of the Smart Clock Essential, for example, when streaming music.
