It is the perfect gift and really useful. It can be confusing to set everything up and connect to it but once you get it connected it is very helpful. The only thing that I will say is sometime. It's a little slow when you try to drop in and different things like that, but other than that it's perfect

Got this because it can track my movement, love it's tracking ability. Also, as someone who orders products from Amazon, I was able to easily track my packages.

This newer version is still taking a little to get used to, but really like the size and capabilities.

Depends on what you have purchased it for. My husband bought 3 of them for Mother's day so that we could keep in touch with our two daughters, one which was moving out of the area. Initially all seemed wonderful. Great picture and sound. I had loved the drop in ability with My Mom's 8 that I had added to my account last year but I was using the app on my tablet to drop in then. Fast forward to now having Mom's echo which is located in a nursing home with her, One of my daughters whom I share my Amazon account with and my other daughter who has her own account. My daughter with her own account can not drop in on me. When she tries dropping in on my device name she is automatically sent to my Mom. We finally diabled Mom's and it went to my other daughter's. It won't go to my device unless all other's on my account are disabled. Now what sense does that make? She has found out that she has the same problem so can not connect her Echo 5 device she had originally or when I call it, it goes to that little one instead of her big one that is centrally located. I have been waiting for over a week now for guidance from Amazon. This is a thousand dollars wasted if they do not figure this out. Customer service follow through with my first attempt was extremely poor and nothing every was solved. At least this second attempt I received and email update that states "still working on it". Now when researching this online I found that people have had this problem going back a couple of years at least. You would think that Amazon would have put something out there that says that you can not have multiple devices on one account and use the drop in feature. My Mom can not manage a phone so I had to open up hers under my account I believe. If that isn't true then Amazon has not gotten that back to me either.

We bought this for an elderly parent and it's an excellent communication device. Having it follow the subject is a nice feature. I wish we would have bought it sooner. The "drop in" feature is awesome.

Super cool but, it's latest update is still really buggy. I own every version besides the 15 and compared to all of them, this one is the most... buggy.

For my mother. This allows us to see eachother on video call without having I-Phones.

Love my echo dot, I put it in my kitchen so I can listen to music while cooking or simply looking up a recipe. Also really great for quick add to my grocery list because I always forget to write things down.

I love this. It has so many features. I especially like the fact I can see from my ring door bell who is at the door. Plus you can talk on the phone on this device. It has so many features. I have not use them all yet.

Help keep the communication open to family members that are not always around there phone. Also helps with cooking ideas each week.

Enjoying my new echo, allows me to use it with my ring doorbell and show me what is happening at home when I'm away. Works great to spy on my puppy.

I’m in love with this product. It connects to my ring system and other Alexa and echo devices. I can make and receive phone calls.

Very unfriendly, cumbersome device riddled with design problems and build quality. Lacks integration with Youtube Music. The error messages are unconstructive. Loses WiFi connection continuously despite no other device in the same area having a similar problem. No warranty whatsoever, you're left to write to a Amazon forum and patiently wait for an answer. The setup takes too long and you have to be very patient with it, otherwise it's "hey you just bumped into the device please restart everything from scratch". The design is good, but the tracking feature doesn't align with your face perfectly and it always looks off. There's no calibration of it either. Voice ID doesn't work properly at all. The web browser is clunky and you can never bring it up with a simple "open web browser". You have to speak a secret ancient language and say "open sesame", "open silk" or something like that in order for it to work. No, native Youtube integration, so you're left with a web browser for watching Youtube videos. The family integration is broken and it took us literally hours to make it working at the bare minimum configuration. Full of bugs. Alexa stops responding to you after you choose "don't send my voice recordings to Amazon". Spotify integration is unreliable and stops working at random times. The Alexa app that comes with it is also quite complex piece of software that makes it a puzzle solving task to perform any simple operation. The whole ordeal was tortuorus.
