Let's be real, getting your hands on one of these things is no small task. I wanted to spend some time with the console before leaving a review. Design - This thing is a monstrosity and you'll want to be intentional around carving out some space for this device. I'm indifferent to the way it looks but just know it has PRESENCE. Performance - PS5 is lightening fast. The time it takes to power up and get in the game is silly. Load times are almost an afterthought and the games look gorgeous on the right display *NOTE* PLEASE make sure your TV has an HDMI 2.1 port or save up for one that does. No reason to not take advantage of next-gen tech and the higher refresh rates! User Interface - this is where I dock 1-star. The menu system is a significant departure from the previous gen. That's not inherently bad but the experience doesn't feel user-friendly. I wonder if the same folks who design menus for their Alpha-series mirrorless cameras are also behind the PS5 menu? I have a hard time believing anyone even considered returning this console - it's that good! Outside of a lackluster menu system, this console feel like and acts like a next gen system.

Best launch of any system that I've encountered. System runs really smooth. Controllers feel nice and the haptic feedback L/R buttons function really nice in the Astro demo game that is included. This controller feels much better than the ps4 controller. No issues with downloading games. No issues with transferring games from ps4 onto external hard drive connecting it to ps5. There's a Day 1 update and a few smaller updates since the release of this console. Menu feels familiar to the ps4.

This was by far one of the hardest purchases to accomplish, at no fault to Best Buy of course. Once I was able find one it was definitely worth the wait! The visuals, speed and performance are amazing. Sony has done it again with making their next generation PS work exactly how the gamers want them to be. From my first PlayStation to now....I'm a fan for life! Of course, the console is HUGE compared to its successors so you better have some room where you're going to place it at.

What's not to like. I've played PS since I was in high school and now I'm in mid thirties. The graphics, scenes and characters are on a whole new level. The controllers are great all the haptic feedback. So far my kids use it more than myself and they are really happy about it. We got sackboy and spiderman morales ultimate series and so far everything is looking good. I'm not a seasoned PS player to know all the nuances. As someone just getting back into gaming, it's really good.

Actually getting the console was amazingly lucky, but the console is great. Comes pre-loaded with a fun game that shows off all of the best feature of the game, and backwards compatibility makes every game played on it better. The SSD makes the system shine over the PS4, and being able to play my favorite games across generations with higher fidelity and better load times is already worth it. Also, Sony is selling the console at a loss, so the value is great even given the price tag

Most already know what this is so I'm just going to cover what I like and don't like about the new console from being as neutral as possible as I have this a the series x: Pros: decent amount of launch games, strong first party titles, awesome new controller. Cons: limited storage for games, only allows 1 external hard drive, can't transfer games while playing, when using sleep mode the system freezes up quite a bit to where when it's turned on it does the start up as it's being unplugged.

Loving the PS5 as an all-out Xbox guy and PC gamer for years....it's SO fast. Had never played any Ratchet & Clank games before and became instantly hooked. The Play at Home program is SUPER valuable; I'm really looking forward to getting Horizon: Zero Dawn for free next month. Can't compare this console to any previous Playstations, nor do I have an 8K TV to really max out the graphics, but I believe the gaming experience is worth every penny even on a 1080p TV. Cheers!

Great console, updated and improved controller and graphics. Runs much smoother than my old ps4 and xbox

The PS5 is a revolutionary console, and the dual sense controller is the biggest thing to happen to controllers since motion controls with the wiimote. The subtlety and precision of the feedback in the controller has to be experienced to be appreciated. The console is super quiet (finally for a PlayStation console), and everything is super fast. Even the download speeds are improved over PS4. It runs almost all PS4 games better, and if they have unlocked framerates, you’ll enjoy a locked 60FPS.

I love my PS5. The new controllers are amazing. Lots of great games available for it.

No problems like the internet says. Very fast and quiet. The dualsense it comes with gives another sense of game immersion.

The PS5 speaks for itself with an unbeatable lineup of exclusive games and a controller with cutting edge features. (XBOX still uses the same controller features from the 360 era with the exception of an added 'Share' button) Haptic feedback and Adaptive triggers are no gimmick, once you try it. Its a step forward. M.2 drive is WAY more user friendly then a proprietary memory stick. More options means cheaper storage and continuing innovation.

Absolutely love my PS5. While my Series X plays 3rd party games better, I absolutely had to get a PS5 for its exclusives.

The console has a really unique design. It is also very large (larger than the original Xbox One). The controller feels very ergonomic and has a unique vibration system. You can feel the difference in materials that your character walks on in Astrobot (a free game pre-installed to the system!). At one point in Astrobot, my character turned into a spring and it actually felt like I was pressing a spring with the controller's triggers. I'm very excited to see where devs take this.
