For the price it's definitely worth the pickup. Recommend you buy a heatsink for it if you plan on using it for the PS5. ALSO UPDATE THE FIRMWARE BEFORE USE TO MAXIMIZE THE LIFE OF YOUR M.2

Samsung 980 PRO 1TB Internal Gaming SSD PCIe

So far all is well after about 4 months (when review was written)

Very fast, not the most user friendy.

I had everything on my HDD and transferred to this, then wiped the HDD. Somehow the SSD is still empty and my HDD is the main again lol. When it was on this, it was lightning fast. I was very impressed. the Samsung app to transfer wasnt helping me much

I have had some SSD failures in other brands that would have been devastating had it not been for meticulous backup habits. Samsung!!

Can’t wait to put my new one to the test of time!

Please use a heatsink.

If not, get the heatsink version or a aftermarket heatsink for the drive. This driver runs very hot and will thermal throttle without one. Other than that, it is a soild drive with some of the highest IOPS for the price when on sale.

Delivery was equally as fast as the drive though, which I had not expected - never heard of Shipt, but got a notification that the drive was delivered and only ordered it last night! Simply a WOW moment for customer service and delivery.

My gaming computer somehow runs even faster than before. A terabyte of data is also pretty solid for storing games, apps, and everything else I need. Always remember, though, back up your drive!

It has been a nice upgrade over my Samsung 970 EVO Plus SSD NVMe. The Samsung 980 Pro will be a great future proof product when Microsoft releases Windows 11 and their new DirectStorage for PC. Loading times will be a thing of the past!
