A lens that everyone needs to have
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the cheapest lens for FR line of lens. It is similar to its EF version in most function but sell $75 dollars more. Every Canon shooter knows about EF version, and we know how it is like. The FR version is slightly better than the EF in macro, and sharpness. There are couple minor issues that bother me. First of all If you have LENS DRIVE WHEN AF IMPOSSIBLE turned on, it will hunt for focal point when you turn it on with lens cover. Secondly there is noticeable chromatic aberration on photo. However, this is the lens that everyone needs to have for spare lens.

Great lens for a great price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recently bought my first real camera, so I'm not a photographer by any means. Based on a suggestion from a YouTube video that this is one of three lenses that are a must for the EOS R50, this is the first one I bought (other than the kit lens) due to the low price. I love this lens. I'm very happy with my purchase.

Affordable, Fast, Prime Lens
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have a Canon EOS R digital, mirrorless camera. The Canon RF 50 mm f/1.8 STM lens is an affordable, optically fast prime lens. At f/1.8, it is optically fast, and is my best lens for low light level photography. With a focal length of 50 mm, it can be used for most common situations. The lens is small and lightweight and has the RF ring to allow customizable control of the camera, e.g., aperture, shutter speed, or ISO. It is a great addition to my collection of Canon RF, EF, and FL lenses.

Perfect starter lens w/ high quality feel!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you want a perfect starter lens into the RF glass then this is the choice. The nifty 50 gets it's well deserved attention as always! Perfect for portraits (photo & video)! If you could only buy one lens and get away with a lot from then the 50mm is the way to go. Can't beat the f/1.8 either. Just overall quality lens for the price.

Must Get for Any Photographer
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great lens for the Canon R-series! This is a very affordable, always classic lens to add to your lineup. The Nifty 50 is something every photographer should have. And at this price, you can't help but get one! With the new RF line Canon has made some great updates and I feel like their lenses are definitely just as important of feature updates as the camera bodies. This new lens has the great option of the control ring or focus ring, a very sturdy construction and light weight to make it a no-brainer.

R50 50m 1.8 lens
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I only give it 5 stars because of the price point. It does lack in a few ways but for the price, and size. It is a must need ESPECIALLY for new people in photography.

Nifty Fifty ; Nifty Price
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The bang for your buck is here. This lens produces sharp images on my R and with the 1.8 aperture I can get those fast shutter speed and freeze the action in lower light situations. At $200 this nifty fifty is one for the bag. It’s tricky to figure out but if you search online you can find instructions on how to set the front ring on this lens to adjust your ISO!
