Her previous trackball became unreliable and glitchy so she started using a wired mouse. That got old in a hurry. I have always preferred a trackball over a mouse or trackpad and, IMO, the M575 continues to have the best bang for the buck of all the ones I have tried/used.

I definitely saves space if that is your biggest dilemma, and It works in that regard. It does get dirty relatively quickly which affects the way the thumb ball tracks. Not a big deal, remove the ball and clean the contacts and voilà. That said, I bought this thinking it might be easier to draw with CAD and Visio. In some ways it is and in others it isn't. Would I buy it again? Probably not, unless I needed to conserve space. That's really what it is ideal at, since you don't have to move the mouse (just the thumb ball).
