Love this ice maker. Easy to use, relatively quiet, and makes ice fast. Cleaning is easy too. I highly recommend this product.

I bought this last year, for my son who moved out into a small apartment with a small freezer and no way to make ice. He uses it daily, it still works great and he's very happy with it.

I got mine as a gift from my sister. I had my doubts but it’s the best personal ice machine ever. I love the option for ice size and it makes ice surprisingly fast. I ended up buying my sister her own because she loves mine so much :) Just as a heads up, it’s not super quiet (there’s no such thing as a quiet ice machine lol) but it’s also not loud per say. The noice will become background noice eventually. Buy it, you will not regret it, especially with thia hot weather.

Works great. I follow another reviewer's tip of letting the first few cycles of ice fall directly into the water reservoir so it makes the ice faster. The only downside to this product is that there's no "minimum" fill line. Eventually, it'll automatically stop making ice even though there's still water in the compartment. I mostly use it to make ice that I store in a reusable silicone zip lock bag in the freezer and I pour the left over ice/water (that was not enough to make any more ice) into an 8-12 oz cup to drink.

Item works great. Worth the price. The device does not leak water and makes ice at a great pace.

One of the best items ive bought in a while. My ice maker on the refrigerator doesn't work and i wasn't ready to buy a refrigerator. Makes ice pretty quickly after it gets going and you have to remove the basket in the machine so it doesn't melt, so keep an eye on it. I just put the ice in the ice container and plastic bags. Its cheaper than buying ice every week. Also it is recommended that you use distilled or purified water. You can get that pretty cheap. Great product.

It makes ice within 15 to25 minutes. Definitely use purified water and it works fantastic!

Works well when new. Makes ice fast. The problem is that none of these last very long. The one i had prior to this one actually lasted 14 months. Expect about a year and make sure you purchase the geek squad protection.

This works amazingly we don’t leave it on until we can keep up with the making of ice then put ice in ziplock bags and start again. So far it’s been great We actually love it glad we got it cause we been wanting one but reviews weren’t good but believe me i would tell you if it wasn’t a good product

Great ice maker that produces alot of ice very quickly. Easy to use and small enough to fit anywhere. I already had one in silver, so I got the red one for my game room bar.

Purchased to use in our motor home. Is the perfect size to not take up a lot of room. Made plenty of ice to keep the 4 of us supplied for the entire trip. And you could barely hear it when it dropped the ice.

We purchased the Insignia ice Maker on Black Friday. We could not be more happy with this product. I get it out every Saturday and make ice all day long (usually every 7 minutes it drops 11 ice cubes), this will get us through the week. I set it up beside the fridge and check on it every once in awhile and dump the basket into a plastic container we set up in the bottom freezer. It is super quiet, automatically shuts off if the basket is full or if you need to add water. A very good tip (posted in another review), the first two sets of ice made, drop them back in the water. They are usually a little smaller any way, after that you get nice cubes. Great for mixed drinks and our kids water bottles during sporting events. Could not be any more satisfied with this product.

We bought this to take Camping the styled drew me to it. We tried it at home first and it made ice very quickly and while we were camping. It made the ice that we needed right away and we didn’t have to worry about our drinks getting warm. It takes up very little space And it looks good on the countertop and matches our decor. It is a little noisy, but most ice makers are, but we ran it during the day and in the evening we had all the ice we needed.

Bought this to replace the ice maker that broke in my fridge and I'm pleasantly surprised at how well it works. This thing runs 24/7 in my house and does well enough. It creates ice pretty quickly, and continues making ice until the ice bucket is full. It has an indicator for low water and ice full so you know why its not making ice if it isn't. There are two options for ice cube size, big and small, and really you should probably be just sticking to big as the little ones melt extremely fast, which brings me to my complaints on this. First, the tempurature doesn't get low enough. It makes ice sure, but the ice temperature is so low that they almost instantly melt as soon as they meet water. If it was a few degrees cooler I believe they would last longer. The ice bucket could be deeper, one ice bucket is enough to fill my water bottle and thats it. And a nice plus would be an external water jug, keeping you from refilling as often. It does make about 3 buckets of ice per fill up, but more would be appreciated. Overall a pretty solid ice maker for the price.

Love an ice maker since I can’t run lines for my fridge. Was convenient when it worked and used a lot for kids sports bottles and daily meals. It is difficult to clean the insides near the ice poles. I have maintained and ran vinegar through, wiped insides with vinegar and flushed, but it holds gunk and mold in crevices and in the back. There is no way to remove casing to clean. Fan stopped working so now it won’t make ice, it’s just over heating. Price is ok, but was hoping to have for longer. Lasted 8 months. I thought I would get longer. Would be nervous that next one wouldn’t even last 8 months

The ice machine has been working flawlessly since we got it. Easy to use fairly quiet. Makes ice quickly. No issues so far recommend purchasing if you’re thinking about it.

I picked up the Insignia Portable Ice Maker mostly for convenience, and while it does technically make ice as advertised, the experience has been pretty middle-of-the-road. It produces small batches of ice reliably enough, and the auto shut-off feature is useful so it doesn’t overflow the bin. For casual use (like making a few drinks throughout the day) it gets the job done. But over time, several drawbacks have kept it from feeling like a truly convenient or worthwhile appliance. The biggest issue is the slow output paired with the very small batch size. If you only need a handful of cubes here and there, it’s fine; but if you’re trying to keep up with multiple drinks or guests, you end up waiting around for the machine to cycle through more ice and it takes a while. The reservoir also runs out of water fairly quickly, which means you’ll be refilling it more often than you’d expect. If you forget to top it off, the machine simply stops running until you notice, which is the opposite of “hands-off” convenience. Another drawback is the noise. When the machine is actively making ice, there’s a noticeable humming and mechanical sound that can be distracting, especially in a smaller kitchen or open living area. It’s not unbearable, but definitely not something you’d want running overnight or during a quiet movie night. The ice itself is also on the smaller, softer side and sometimes comes out partially melted or inconsistent in shape. It works fine for basic drinks but doesn’t have the firmness or size you’d get from a standard freezer ice maker. Maintenance is another factor. Like most portable ice makers, this one requires regular cleaning to avoid odd tastes or mineral buildup. That’s fine in theory, but paired with the other limitations, it makes the overall experience feel more high-maintenance than it should be. It would be a lot better if it had a built-filter. Overall, the Insignia Portable Ice Maker isn’t awful; it works, and it does produce ice. But the slow production, frequent refilling, noise, and somewhat inconsistent ice quality make it feel more like an occasional-use gadget rather than a reliable everyday solution. If your needs are light and you don’t mind babysitting it a bit, it may be fine. For anything more than that, it’s just okay.
