The Insignia Portable Ice Maker with Auto Shut-Off produces up to 19 lbs.* of ice per day and stores up to 1.5 lbs. It creates ice every 6 to 13 minutes and has two cube size options. It has a large 2.1-quart water tank that recycles melted ice, so you can refill it less often. An electronic control panel with indicator lights make this portable ice maker easy to operate.
A: It plugs into a wall, and you add water by opening the main lid and pouring it in. Just under the ice bucket
A: Since the ice maker doesn't keep the ice frozen once the ice is in the tray, when you transfer the ice to a container in the freezer, you need to move physically move the ice around with your fingers or other utensil. It helps if you dump each batch of ice into the freezer and not let the ice sit in the ice maker tray too long. When I use this technique, I don't experience the "blobbing" of ice. Hope this helps.
A: After the ice is made it will slowly melt if you don’t remove it and put it in the freezer. If the basket of ice gets full, it won’t be able to make more Ice until there is room. I didn’t time how long the ice cubes stay frozen, but I am pretty sure they had minimal melting after a few hours. I haven’t tried leaving them longer than that.
Q: Can I make clear ice with this machine?
A: I’ve tried so many times, Filtered, alkaline, boiled, cold. Only thing nearly close But still cloudy, was Dasani water.
A: I can only believe that it wasn’t cleaned before use. Mine didn’t have a lingering taste at all.
Q: How long does it take to make ice?
A: it takes about 8 minutes to make ice.
Q: How do you clean?? Is it self-cleaning??
A: to clean it drain all the water out and take any ice out of it, get 10 parts warm water and 1 part vinegar run one cycle of that through the machine then another cycle of clean plain water to rinse the machine out
A: You have to take the ice out and out it in the freezer. It recycles the same water when the ice cubes melt.
