    We bought this icemaker for a very specific purpose. Our icemaker in our older refrigerator leaked and destroyed some flooring. After fixing the floor, we are reluctant to have the internal icemaker repaired. Buying ice constantly is such an inconvenience. We use this icemaker to make and freeze batches of ice in our refrigerator. This type of icemaker isn't really made to hold the ice for any length of time. It works well for our purposes.
