I bought this ice maker for my daughter, she loves it. Ice is always available. If you don't use all the ice at once it stays in the ice maker for more than 24 hr. It was a great price as d works well.

This is the BEST ice maker ever! We got it when our fridge wasn't making ice and needed something to hold us over until it was fixed. We now bring it out for any party or get together we have instead of exhausting our fridge with the ice supply. The "recycling" it does for the water when it melts is a great time saver in having to not refill it all the time.

I purchased this countertop ice maker as a replacement for my freezer ice maker. It makes a lot of ice! Very easy to use! We absolutely love it! Highly recommend!

got this for my mom for christmas as she is a chronic ice chewer, so these are her thoughts and opinions. she goes through A LOT of ice, but this thing keeps itself stocked with plenty and fills back up fast if you keep up with putting the water in. not the easiest thing to clean, but not impossible. overall she loves it and it's lasted all this time and kept up with her ice chewing needs!

Overall this is a great machine! We've had a similar one (different brand) for several years and it's been a lifesaver as our refrigerator icemaker is very slow and has a small bin, so we were always running out of ice. I've managed to keep the old one alive by repairing it numerous times but the motor finally started to seize up and $50 to replace it I decided it was time for a whole new unit and chose this one. While Insignia is a 'house' brand, I've found their products to be of high quality and in many cases better than other name-brand products I've bought. So far this one has not disappointed. The good: the icemaker has a smaller footprint than our old one while maintaining the same capacity. It is also quieter and makes ice faster. The unit feels solid and appears to the made quite well. The only major difference is that the lid that covers the ice bin is not as substantial as our old one; this one is a single-layer of clear plastic and the old one was double-wall with a smaller, clear single-layer window. Thus far this doesn't appear to impact performance in any way. We've had the machine for about a week and it has been cranking out ice ever since and works very well. How long it will last and with how much maintenance remains to be seen. These units do require a lot of upkeep and need to be cleaned regularly (and they are not easy to clean either, but the effort is worth it to always have ice on hand.) This one looks like it will be even harder to clean than our old one due to the more compact design. While they took a lot of care in making the unit compact, it makes getting to the interior surfaces for cleaning a bit harder. The one not-so-good thing; the fill line. This may not be apparent to most, but this is actually a thing and it will make sense with an understanding of how these machines work. On our old machine, there was a tolerance between the fill line and the bottom of the ice basket. This is important because when the unit is running and making ice, it fills a troth (or bucket) in the upper part of the machine with water. When the cycle completes, it dumps that water out and it flows back into the reservoir. This bucket holds a good bit of water, so if you add water to the fill line while the machine is running there was enough room to hold that extra water without overflowing into the ice basket, On this new machine, there is NO tolerance at all, so if you notice the water is low and add more while it's running it will overflow into the ice basket when each cycle completes and the water is dumped. This has been the one most annoying thing about this machine and it will take me some time to figure out where the 'real' fill line should be. Otherwise, I have to turn the machine off completely, fill it to the line, then turn back on; that is the only way to ensure it doesn't overflow. I wish they had thought of this in the design as that would have made it a full 5-stars for me. Overall, I still like this icemaker and feel that it is superior to many of the other brands selling similar units for more money. I would definitely recommend this one as well.

Overall the product is built well and provides ice. My call out would be the quality of the ice it provides. Its wet ice that melts fast. Wont work for something like packing a cooler. It does work well for providing ice that you can use for beverages. Buy a bigger better one if you need alot of ice for hunting i Or keeping itens fresh for the game

Great product. I've owned multiple brands (about 3 or 4) and so far this is the best. It produces a massive amount of ice. My friend saw how much ice it produced and immediately bought one. His ice maker was still good but he was very impressed. Me too. I live in an apartment and I don't have an ice maker, so this is a perfect solution. Be sure to put it where the fan isn't blocked or too close to a wall and it will operate perfectly.
