Lift-Away is great

The Hoover was a very capable device but quite heavy and did not lend itself to doing carpeted staircases easily. The Shark is substantially lighter and the Lift-Away feature makes cleaning staircases a breeze. It’s not quite as wide as the Hoover but the lower weight and swivel capability more than makes up the difference.

Limited extension of attachment, so need to carry or prop vacuum to reach upper corners. Edge vacuuming pretty good, but need to do 3 or 4 passes to pick up debris. Overall dependable unit
