Reliable and quiet...but
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great laptop. Not very great for anything more intense than watching videos and movies. It does overheat really quick and starts lagging a bit when playing videogames (yeah it's not a gaming laptop) even if the game you're playing is barely taking up 1gb of RAM. It's a bit annoying if you aren't trying to create a Microsoft account and want to make an account just to use the computer. Google how to force the computer to give you the option of making a local account prior to going through with the setup process if you don't want to make a Microsoft account Overall, For office use: solid choice For light gaming use: it's bearable if you have a tolerance for some lag once in a while. For heavy gaming: Go find a better computer than this. Or build one.

I hated laptops before this one
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For years I refused to buy a laptop because I couldn’t stand the keyboard, but this one was different, so I snapped it up. This laptop was the right size, the right weight, and had the features I needed. Sound is particularly cool. A Best Buy for the money.

Persistent Hardware defects
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've got to say I'm feeling pretty let down by Asus with this Laptop. I got it for a killer deal on Black Friday weekend, and since then I have been through not just one, but two of these laptops. Out of the box, the initial windows set up seems fine and all, however after completion the computer will then go through a series of updates which will cause the fans to notch up in the RPMs and become quite loud. However, this is not the issue and should be expected. However, after this occurs and the fans calm down, there is a persistent hardware noise originating from one of them. To me, it sounds like the fan blades are chipping against something. This will last for some time (I felt around 15 minutes) until it winds down. This happens every time the PC undergoes a 'significant' load, whether that be a simple update/download, or watching a video on youtube. I'm usually not one to be bothered by a slight sound from my PC, but this one is particularly loud and annoying (Loud enough for other people to hear in the office). It would be one thing if the fans were just generally loud, but the sound they emit isn't the blowing sound you would expect but rather a fast-paced 'clicking' sound. I've tried some simple solutions to correct this, such as setting the fans to whisper mode and selecting the dedicated graphics card to be the default GPU for the system (For some reason it wasn't already). Unfortunately, there has been no luck, and the issue keeps arising. I really wanted to give this laptop a chance, I thought I got a great deal on it and I really love the looks and specs of it. However, having this issue with two of them in a row is disheartening.

Posted .Dear Paul,
We're sorry to hear baout the unfortunate experiences you're having with the hardware on this model. he noise that is emitting from the computer is known as coil whine. When the electrical current is increased to a certain point, the magnetic field around the coil can cause it to vibrate, which produces the whiny sound. After a short amount of time the noise should go away as the components regulates. However, if it is that the sound is too much for you, then we would recommend that you have this device sent in for servicing.

Amazing Results
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve had this laptop for a about 3 weeks and got nothing better then amazing. I finished school work and read manga that would take a while to load but this thing was loading it in less then 3 seconds. You might have a bright screen once in a while but just hold the power button for that.

This could have easily been the ULTIMATE laptop
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop on paper is awesome, beyond awesome, great CPU, decent GPU you can easily play 2022 games on this thing while still getting a long lasting battery for everyday use, great display, like this laptop could have been the ultimate laptop but 1 FLAW that makes it almost unusable: 8GB RAM SOLDERED 8gb is just not usable for 95% of users on windows 11 the laptop will hang with just having 5 tabs on chrome open, let´s not even talk any half intensive work. This laptop is something like a Ferrari that´s artificially limited to only speed up to 30mph, but you still got an engine to reach 300mph it´s just a waste of money and a shame

Posted .Dear Ac228,
We do understand your disappointment with the product and the inconvenience this may have caused if you are experiencing slow system performance.
On the contrary, lots of satisfied customers, having positive experience using the laptop, will agree with that it run well with the 8GB RAM, without compromising system stability and performance as long as Windows is up to date and it has access to a stable intenet service while accessing web applications.

Good at first, until graphics card went out
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It was a good laptop for the price until out of no where the graphics card just went out. The graphics card inside of it is no longer recognized in task manager and does not work anymore, and I have no idea why. I had done nothing damaging to the laptop in the weeks prior to the graphics card giving up. The battery life is also not 10 hours as the reviews and listing suggest. I have warranty with ASUS and I would like to know if my ASUS warranty would cover the repair, replacement, or refunding of this laptop.
