Exceptional hybrid gaming machine with one caveat
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Nintendo Switch – OLED Model has largely exceeded my expectations—especially as someone who enjoys gaming in handheld, tabletop and TV-docked formats. Right out of the box, the 7-inch OLED screen stands out: the colors are rich, contrast is sharp and the improved brightness really enhances portable play. Whether I’m immersed in story-driven games or racing friends in local multiplayer, the visuals feel more premium than previous versions. Performance-wise, it handles pretty much everything I throw at it—downloads are fast, loading screens acceptable, and switching between modes (handheld/tabletop/dock) is seamless. That said, it’s important to note that the core hardware (chipset/RAM) isn’t a leap over past models, so for ultra-high-end performance you won’t see a dramatic jump. For the vast majority of games, though, it delivers smooth and enjoyable gameplay. The battery life is decent — I’m getting a solid 4–6 hours of mixed use (handheld gaming, streaming) under moderate brightness. If I push it harder (higher brightness, wireless multiplayer) it drops closer to the lower end. So yes, it’s very usable on the go, but if you’re looking for “all-day unplugged” gaming you may want to keep the charger handy or opt for a break between sessions. I especially appreciate the wider adjustable kickstand (for tabletop mode) and the dock’s built-in wired LAN port for more stable online play when docked. These upgrades show that Nintendo has paid attention to the smaller but meaningful details. The internal storage has been doubled compared to older models, which means fewer immediate worries about running out of space—though a microSD will still be smart if you’re downloading a lot of games. If I were to mark two modest quibbles: First, the Joy-Con controllers and general ergonomics remain largely the same as previous models. So if you’ve had drift issues or hand-fatigue with earlier Joy-Cons, you might still feel those here. Second, because it’s more refined and premium, the value proposition is stronger if you’ll make full use of its handheld/tabletop strengths; if you mostly play on your TV and already have a Switch, the upgrade may feel less essential. All things considered: if you’re buying a Switch for the first time, or you love gaming on the go, transitioning to handheld/tabletop regularly, the OLED model is definitely a worthy pick. It pulls together thoughtful hardware refinements, a fantastic screen, and flexible modes of play—making it one of the best hybrid consoles out there right now.

Oled fun time nintendo switch
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Oled great picture quality. The joycons i suggest some other than company. Joycons may or can be better. The battery life is good an outside day or with the children at home. As well as the oled the design and color as a preference me like but feels greta in the hands and the games on the oled switch is fun to enjoy. Now the storage may be okay on my account but after all the buying for memeory its well added to notes to at least buy a 64gb memory is good if you dont need many games i have about 7 games for 32gb and for the eleast to say it great.

The best switch
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got my switch at launch and this is a welcome upgrade to the base model! It’s not the most worth it if you have the second model that has a better battery life but I still think this is a great choice for anyone wanting a switch with the olded display, larger screen, better battery life, and an amazing kickstand. I definitely think this is the best version of the switch at the time of writing this!

Well worth the money!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My daughter had the old Switch and we didn’t think the OLED would be much different but boy were we wrong. It provides my daughter with the original fun and portability but with a much clearer screen.

Great Family Buy!!
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As a 32-year-old parent with two young children, the Nintendo Switch OLED has been a game-changer for our family. The vivid and larger 7-inch OLED screen enhances the gaming experience, making colors pop and details more striking. My 12-year-old son and 6-year-old daughter are both captivated by the upgraded display, and it has turned family gaming sessions into a visually immersive delight. The improved kickstand offers more stability, which is perfect for tabletop gaming during our family game nights. The enhanced audio quality is also a noticeable improvement, making game soundtracks and effects more engaging. The increased storage capacity of 64GB is a great addition, allowing us to store more games without constantly managing space. Overall, the Nintendo Switch OLED has exceeded our expectations, providing an upgraded, versatile gaming experience that keeps both my children entertained and engaged. It’s been a fantastic addition to our household, fostering fun and quality time together. Highly recommended!

I love it!!!!!!
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love the Nintendo switch. It came with the white joy con which you can use for one or two players. It has great graphics on the handheld mode. When you hook it up to the tv it goes into the cradle and just kind of rests there. Graphics are great. There are a lot of free games but it’s worth it to upgrade to the online paid version so you get access to more games and can play with friends as well. We bought another set of joy cons in gray for more players and also bought another holder since it only came with one. We got a case so we can carry everything on the go for easy transport and to protect everything. The games are fun especially the nostalgic ones. It’s a great system and is really easy to use. Fun for the whole family!! I love it!!!!!!

Amazing OLED Switch
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is one of the flawless machines of our generation, and there aren't a ton. What can I say? Money well spent, the battery life is excellent, I played for like 45 minutes and the battery went from 100% to ~90%. The screen is gorgeous, the OLED is such a crisp image. It's super portable as well, and there are so many great games to choose from, especially the Nintendo exclusives like Pokémon and Mario. Also, the online membership is very affordable ($25/year i gitbal, which I, personally, appreciate coming from xbox where it's $60/year. Would recommend to anyone and everyone, it's just a shame they're all sold out.

Far better than the nay sayers say.
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Do not listen to these naysayers. I have the switch from the first revision, with the larger battery and more efficient processor that was released in 2019 so I'm not even coming from the original switch with the horrible battery life here. At first, I was hesitant to open the package, as I heard people mutter their bunk about this console not being worth the money. However, after opening the thing and powering it on, I was very surprised by how much better the screen was over all previous versions. To say it is beautiful, doesn't do it justice and it's bigger than the other switch displays. The other thing that I find to be extremely interesting is the fact that Nintendo solved the only other issue I had with the switch... They fixed the kickstand, so now you no longer need to set it on while you're playing SSB on the road with a friend. Now let me clarify my position here if you're somebody that plays the switch on the go, this screen is absolutely worth the price of admission. If you only play it while docked, then this isn't for you. Now if you're a parent that is on the fence between a switch OLED and the other two new consoles on the market, then consider this... There are far more exclusive games already available and worth playing for the switch, here are just a few. Super Mario Odyssey Super Smash Brothers Legend of Zelda, Breath of the Wild Splatoon 2 Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Mario Kart Live Home Circuit Bayonetta 1 & 2 Metroid Prime Super Mario AllStars Super Mario Maker 2 Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze Pokemon Snap Super Mario 3D World Monster Hunter Generations Monster Hunter Rise These are just some of the great games worth playing on this platform and the Switch will be far easier to get this holiday season for sure. Seriously, take advantage of the trade-in offers for your old switch consoles and buy this if you can get it for retail, it is absolutely worth it.

Great for kids and parents
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I absolutely love the Nintendo Switch OLED! I bought this for myself to play games in bed while the wife watches one of her shows. I also got it to introduce and play video games with my kids. I eventually bought myself a steam deck and gave the OLED Switch to the kiddos. They absolutely love playing pretty much any game i get for them and it has given us some memorable fun times! Dont buy one expecting to play AAA titles or visually demanding games with top graphics and controls because it just doesnt have the power to do so. You can still play some pretty demanding games but I'd rather do that on the PC, Steam Deck, or streaming them via a service like geforce now or XBOX Gamepass. Definitely buy one of you want to introduce your kids to video games and have fun playing with them. The JOYCON controllers are in fact named well because you will be conned out of a good chunk of change when you get the inevitable stick drift. I recommend gettin an extra set of joycons and doing a Hall Sensor replacement kit through Gulikit or i think ifixit has an option as well. This way you wont ever have to replace your joycons again, cause the asking price for a new one is ridiculous. Also Nintendo is horrible with shared libraries and makes it a hastle to say switch from your oled to the same game on your switch lite. This legitimately made me mad, why should i have to buy a game twice to play it on my lite when im already paying for a family plan. Other than Nintendos predatory practices its a great device. I 1000% recommend getting Best Buys warranty on it as it is one of the best warranties you can buy for the switch as well as anything you get from BB. Ive never once had an issue with getting what i need/want with a warranty from Best Buy. Shoot they replaced my 2 year old 4K 65 INCH LG CX AT 0 COST TO ME.

Upgraded Switch
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this to replace my son’s old switch. The battery life and screen are a big upgrade from the old one. The kickstand is also a lot better and the amount of memory is much better for more games to be stored on. I also use the old microsd card for more storage. As much as my son plays it, it is still working like new all these months later. Highly recommend this for anyone looking to replace or upgrade.

What the Original should have been
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A fantastic upgrade or choice for those who prefer to play in handheld mode, but practically useless to those that always play docked. The only addition that would benefit such people would be the introduction of a lan port to the dock, which should have been part of the original design. Other great welcomed modifications such as the bigger screen (or more accurately, a thinner bevel around the screen) and the vastly superior kick stand should have also been a part of the originaldesign. The only thing that may not have been possible at the time of the consoles initial release is the OLED screen, which is incredibly vivid and makes up quite a bit for the Switch's lacking power. The primary disappointment with this new addition (other than an upgrade in cpu/gpu) is that lack of a pre-installed screen protector (tempered glass). The film that is factory installed is only to prevent the screen from shattering from impact and harming the individual cleaning it up, and provides no protection from scratches. This is quite disappointing since the screen is the only reason to get this model rather than the original model that is $50 cheaper, and a pack of 3-4 tempered glass plates only costs about $10 (I am noting the price not because I think they are to expensive, but to illustrate that they are cheap enough for Nintendo to pre-install them).

Nintendo Switch OLED
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This new OLED switch model has phenomenal graphics. The picture is crystal clear. High contrast, rich colors, smooth motion. It’s very clean looking. Would definitely recommend compared to the original switch. It has a better screen, improved speakers, and it has more internal storage space. The battery life is up to 9 hours.

Such an improvement from previous model.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Nintendo Switch OLED model is well worth getting over the previous model. The screens extra size, and brightness makes it so much easier to see, and the color vibrancy on the OLED model is amazing. Also the kick stand on the back is 100 times better than the flimsy little stand that is on the older model. I would definitely recommend getting this. That being said, it is hard to justify upgrading if you already have the older model though, due to the hefty price tag.

An improvement in every way.
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Absolutely night and day between this and original Switch. Sound is better, kickstand is actually functional and VERY similar to that found on a microsoft Surface and the Screen is a massive improvement. Previously I would play 99% of the time docked but with the Switch OLED its been 99% portable since launch. I'm sure it will lower as time goes on and the newness wears off but it is still a fantastic improvement. Pictures and Videos on the internet do not do it justice.

Fun For Everyone!
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Wow... My favorite console ever and I was primarily a PlayStation Kid growing up. This system really brought me back into gaming. Nintendo has so much soul, charm, creativity, and heart that goes into their titles despite being a mega corporation as its competitors. Not to mention the plethora of so many incredible indie and third party titles to play on the go. The Oled is the Ultimate version of the Switch and as someone who transitioned to being a primarily handheld gamer it is such a perfect system for me. The screen is beautiful, battery life excellent, and the library of games holds the potential for so many endless returns to your investment of $350. I could keep going but, I will leave my feelings with this: One quote could summarize my feelings for the Nintendo Switch from a very special someone who unfortunately didn’t get to see what it could be, but still yet, is very much reflected in the Switch’s success… “Video games are meant to be just one thing: Fun! Fun for everyone.” -Satoru Iwata (Nintendo’s and Gaming’s Best CEO, Rest In Peace. Your Spirit lives on!)

Great Upgrade for Handheld Users
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great looking screen with the OLED. Colors pop and games just look better than the previous generation Switch when played in handheld. I do not use the kick stand very much, but it is much improved for those who use it. This is a great upgrade for anyone with the first generation Switch with its improved battery life. If you already have a Switch and you mainly only play it docked, then you won’t really experience any differences.

Amazing Upgrade — Worth Every Penny!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recently purchased the Nintendo Switch – OLED Model from Best Buy, and I couldn’t be happier with my purchase! The vibrant OLED screen makes a huge difference — colors are richer, blacks are deeper, and games just look incredible whether I’m playing handheld or docked on my TV. The improved kickstand feels much sturdier than the original model, and the upgraded audio really enhances the overall experience. I also love the sleek white Joy-Cons — they give the console a modern and premium look. Best Buy’s service was great as always — fast delivery and secure packaging. For anyone thinking about upgrading from the standard Switch, this OLED version is absolutely worth it. A fantastic product and an awesome buying experience!

Review
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was hesitant at first to buy this newer model but I'm glad I did! The screen looks amazing! The new kickstand is far superior to the old one and the white color really pops. The 64GB of storage is good and bad in my honest opinion. I ended up needing an SD card even with the available 50+GB useable. I really wish Nintendo would have used a white contrast on the system itself, like with the Mario red version. Instead we get an all black system and white joycons. Pros: Screen, Kickstand, Storage Cons: Storage, Price, availability

Wow that Screen, a must for Handheld play!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Upgraded from a launch edition Switch and as someone who primarily plays handheld and not on my TV this was an absolute must. The battery life itself is so far superior that I didn't need to charge during even the longest gaming sessions or trips. But the kicker is the screen, it really is that far superior to the original Switch. It takes existing games to a different experience in handheld mode. If you only play docked on your TV, I'm not sure this offers much in terms of improvement, but handheld players this is a must.

Great Switch! Lots to say
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you’re able to snag yourself an OLED model definitely do. It is definitely worth the upgrade if you have a gen 1 switch. If you don’t have one at all definitely get this one if you are able to. The battery lasts longer than I thought it would. The screen is perfect and I wouldn’t worry about screen burn-in since I have seen people do tests with it leaving it on for weeks with no screen burn. The only thing that has happened with that test was that the screen didn’t appear as bright after the test. The doc is a really nice step up. I love that the entire back comes off rather than it having a little hinge like the previous ones. Apparently this doc has little upgrades hidden inside of it for future updates but of course don’t know for sure what that will mean for the OLED model. The joycons are the same as all the others just white. The Switch is just slightly longer by a fraction of an inch. My OLED fits in a case I got that was intended for the older models so don’t worry about it not fitting unless your current switch fits really snug tight in the case and you upgrade to this one. If you get this switch get a screen protector!!! Can not stress that enough. So glad I got one for it because with all the upgrades with the doc, it still will scratch your screen. My screen protector got scratches on the far left and right of the screen protector after putting it in the doc a couple times. The screen is safe thanks to the screen protector. Also this switch has a film over the screen already to protect it and you. When I say “and you” I mean that since the screen is glass and you drop it, the protective film that was put on it by Nintendo will keep the glass from scattering all over the place. Best thing to do is to not remove that protective layer. Never remove it! One downside with mine that others probably have experienced with their switches OLED and older was that my left joycon’s joystick made a springy noise when I would rotate it to the top left position. This has happened to some people and I was one of the lucky ones for this to happen to.
